“The harder I work, the luckier I get.”
- Samuel Goldwyn
Last year, I worked with a candidate who had been searching for a Medical Sales job for 3 months.
Countless applications.
Two interviews—neither progressed past the 1st round.
He was ambitious, educated, and had solid experience.
But something wasn’t clicking.
After a mock interview session, we uncovered the issue:
↳ He was saying what he thought was important to the job.
In reality, he didn’t understand the day to day responsibilities of a Territory Manager.
Fast-forward 6 weeks:
↳ He landed two offers.
𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧. 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
People call that “good fortune.”
↳ I call it focused effort.
If you’ve been thinking:
“𝑰’𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝒋𝒐𝒃 𝒇𝒐𝒓 3+ 𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒔… 𝒂𝒎 𝑰 𝒅𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒍𝒚?”
It’s probably time to reset your interview plan ⤵
𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐥𝐮𝐜𝐤—it’s about taking intentional steps to create a positive outcome:
🍀 Own your outcome by preparing like it’s game day.
🍀 Influence your own success by sharing results.
🍀 Enhance your chances by practicing.
Earning a high-paying job is about aligning your skills, preparation, and sharing your unique value across 6 rounds of interviews.
When your story reflects this alignment, 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰.
So what’s stopping you from securing a Med Rep job offer?
