Medical Device and Pharmaceutical companies don’t hire just because they feel like it.


There’s a story behind every open territory, and if you know that story, you can tailor your responses to fit what the hiring manager needs.


Here are a few possibilities:


- Product launch

- Expansion territory

- Previous representative was promoted

- The sales rep was recruited away to the competition

- HR intervened, and the sales rep is no longer employed.


When you find out “why” the territory is open, that should dictate how you position yourself as the 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞


Examples:


👉 Can you share with me why the territory is open?


👉 What does the territory need at this moment to be successful?


👉 With everything going on in the open territory, what is your timeline to fill the position?


These questions will inform you of the company’s 𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 to fill the vacancy.


In addition, you will have a better understanding of what is the current 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 in the territory.


Most importantly, asking the “right” questions will lead to an 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫.
